The Heavy Load - Then and Now | LMAC Collage FreeStyle No. 112

LMAC-FreeStyle-No112.jpg

I wanted to share with you my Freestyle Collage No. 112. My theme is the burden and sacrifice of women during their lifetimes.

The LMAC Community run by @shaka holds a weekly collage contest for its members. In the Community, you'll discover a variety of themed entries submitted for consideration. If selected for the final round, contest hopefuls anxiously await results indicating their placement that determines the prize awarded. It's a fun contest that any Hive member can participate. If you'd like to join in, just visit the LMAC Community account here and follow the rules of the contest for details on the latest round.

The LMAC Community also offers an opportunity for members to create and post in the Community "freestyle" collage themes. In the freestyle option, more freedom is allowed to design your creations without having to incorporate the weekly contest photo. However, contest rules still apply.

Please visit the Community page for any questions on how to successfully publish in the LMAC Community.

Throughout history, women are depicted as burden bearers. They are strong individuals who carry the weight of caring for children and their elderly family and relatives. Next came domestic responsibilities.

As society evolved, women ventured beyond to work outside the home. This additional responsibility added resources for the family. Compared to several decades ago, women who are employed outside the home has risen to over 75%. 1

But not all was perfect as some situations caused other problems to arise. All this is in addition to their duties they fulfill in relationships.

Through it all, an added responsibility is placed upon women to remain calm, with a positive attitude through it all. A tremendous burden to bear. But they handle.

Thankfully, there are resources that can assist when the burden becomes too heavy.

In preparing my theme, I utilized one of the LMAC original contest landscape images. I discovered a lovely female image in which the woman carried a basket on her head as is done in certain countries where women participate in the labor for their families. I also added a pure fractal I created in Apophysis 7X, the advanced version of the fractal rendering program. Finally, I included images from the LMAC #LIL database and a free-sourced image.

But they handle

🌷

An especially apt theme in the U.S. today, when the role of women in the home and society seems to be undergoing re-examination.

I'm not sure if it is intentional, but texture seems to be important in this picture. There is the texture of the woman's (elevated) suit, the texture of the background for the dove, and the texture of whatever that is in the fishbowl. Just seems that way to me, anyway :)

Women certainly do handle all that is placed upon them. It's a strength unlike no other. It's not physical strength; it's fortitude, commitment, and abiding love of family that's shored up.

You have an exceptional keen eye. I replaced the basket upon the women's head with the bush from the contest photo to add an extra layer of burden, heavy in exchange for light. Other areas as well.

Thanks so much for your visit and engagement. I appreciate it. Take care and have a good rest of your weekend.

Great collage from a thoughtful mind of yours, @justclickindiva. Here is some thoughts that came up to me after seeing this nice work, first of all it looks like the red woman not just carries the world on her head but also flourishes the globe with her efforts. The wicked texture is very nice on the elevated body and also it symbolizes for me the unknown identity where it could mean disregarded women. And also the pigeon blends very well which is still humble, beautiful and innocent even after all the treating. And last words for the background is "women have the power to turn the world upside down!".

Excellent interpretation. Spot on. Women do have power. It's beyond my imagination why they are still oppressed today after all the advances in certain parts of the world. What is happening in the U.S. with women's rights to their own bodies decided by men is unfathomable.

When will men stop and think for a moment what would the world be without women. Then they'd have no one to attempt to rule over. Perhaps then they may reconsider. But alas it will be too late.

Thank you so much for stopping by and your lovely compliment for my collage. Your analysis is always welcome. I appreciate it and your support.

Yes you are right. We, the men, have some arrogant genes embodied in. I think some of our hormones are avoiding the cerebral development as well. Time to time I think how lucky I am to ease my soul and embrace balance with my wife!

Oh, how beautiful it is to hear you express those sentiments of the woman in your life and for all women. As a society, we definitely need more of your way of thinking. I thank God for you and any other male who embraces all females and their contributions.

Thank you so much for your engagement on this subject. It's much appreciated. Have a great Sunday with much blessings.
