GOING BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD

The year 2024 is fast approaching, so I think it's about time I started checking to see how far I have come. I did make some plans at the beginning of the year, as a matter of fact, the plans I made were before the beginning of the year, when I was still trying to wrap my head around what the hell I was even doing on hive. I have had little or no guidance from my onboarder since joining the Blockchain almost two months ago, everything I have learned and accomplished so far has been as a result of the strive to know and continue learning even when sometimes it seems I don't even know what I was doing.

Among over 12 of us who were on-boarded by my on-border, I'm the only one still striving at this pace. There's another who is still on hive, but struggling in every way possible. For my onboarder, she's doing alright, and I'm super grateful to her for the opportunity here even though it seems I'm already surpassing her by reputation. I don't say this to mock or castlegate anyone, it's just to remind myself of how much I need to keep pushing. Now that I know a little bit more about the Blockchain, it's become easier for me to grow and develop myself. I have formed new relationships within almost one year of thriving hard, and found a way to grow in both hive power, visibility, curations and reputation.

MY CHALLENGES ALONG THE WAY.

In my hive journey, the major challenge I faced was a bad device which lingered for a very long time until recently when I got the device I'm using presently. My Device basically affected my consistency in content creation so it was hard to grow into the goals I had set for myself at the beginning of the year.

I decided to go back to the post I made on 31st December 2022, where I talked about my hive goals for 2023. If you care, you can read about it here. I highlighted some things I thought I should have achieved according to the little knowledge I had about the Blockchain then. Now I look back, seeing how far I have come, I'm yet to have achieved some, and for others I did, but overall it's cool.

As you can see I have earned just 11 of the 20 I hoped to have achieved by the end of the year, but with the consistency I'm putting in since I got my new device, I should reach 18 by the end of the year.

I wasn't able to do much here majorly because of my phone issues. I intended to invest in second layer tokens, especially the Leo, but I had been having issues accessing the leofinance frontend until recently so I will obviously shift this goal to next year.

As at the time I wrote my hive goals, I didn't know much about communities, but I think my consistency in engagements has made me familiar with some communities like hive learners, hivenaija, inkwell, scholars and scribe, mcgicares… and of course this very community, to mention but a few.

As for becoming a community moderator, I did become one, in the hive naija community, only to lose it because I couldn't meet up with demands when my phone was bad. Overall it's been quite a journey, and now I am focused on building my hive power and creating more engagements to gain visibility on hive. I'm also focused on helping the Blockchain in any little way I can, in community engagements and everything in-between.

I'm glad you've been able to achieve more than half of your goals and thriving well on the blockchain.
