HIGHLIGHTS OF MY DAY; FOUNDATION DAY EDITION (BLOG #014)
In this blog, I'll share highlights from my foundation day journey and everything I experienced before, during, and after the event. For those who have been reading my blog for a while, you know I'm a first-year psychology student at Cebu Roosevelt Memorial Colleges. Our school celebrated its foundation day with a three-day event, featuring a PE demonstration contest for first-years. Before the event, we faced ups and downs, sweating buckets and shedding tears. But our hard work paid off: we secured third place among all participants.
The PE demonstration contest starts at one in the afternoon and we were the first to perform. Despite that, we still went to school at 7 in the morning to prepare. We all agreed to do braids with our hair for a clean and organized look. However, not everyone knows how to do braids, including me. Therefore, I somehow panicked because I don't know anyone who knows how to do it but I was so grateful that we still managed to find a solution for it. During lunch time, my partner asked me to do braids but since I don't know how to do it, I learned it for her. It was not perfect but I still managed to pull it off.
My partner's department actually won first place for six years in a row already while my program won third place and I am so grateful for the both of us. It hasn't been easy and you can clearly see how much sweat we had shed after the performance. It was so tiring that a lot of student passed out and was sent into the hospital during practices and after the performance itself.
After the announcing of winners for the afternoon's event, we headed home to have our well-deserved nap time. We were so tired and drained that we took a more than two hours of nap. After napping, it was already time to prepare for the evening portion of the event. We didn't have time to eat dinner so we just decided to eat at the nearest 7/11 store and satisfied our cravings. We were so undecided with what to eat at first but we had no choice but to pick what's available since we have no time to waste to find another store. My partner decided to have a chicken for dinner with two cups of rice while I chose to have a chicken nuggets with one cup of rice. We also bought the famous foot-long hotdog and paired it with magnum ice cream.
After dinner, we immediately proceeded to the area of the event to enjoy and witness the different talents and skills anyone has to offer. And let me tell you this, the event really showcased the creativity of a Filipino people. IT WAS SO FUN AND ENTERTAINING TO WATCH! However, the bad news was that I wasn't able to sign my attendance because I was not aware that of it and it was completely my fault and there's no one to blame but myself so now I gotta pay an almost a hundred pesos for sign in and sign out.
After the event, we went back to 7/11 to buy more snacks and to accompany our housemates because they also wanted to buy something from there. We took some pictures and appreciated the moment.
That's it for now my amazing Hivers! If you like reading my blog, feel free to check my profile to read some more.
