Gaming Photography Weekly Contest - Theme: Night Photography
This photo was taken in front of Fort Nakayama. The way everything I get in one frame amazes me. The moonlight, the scene, and where Jin stands make it feel like a moment from an old samurai movie. Just the graphics are much better than the movie.๐ He stands alone on a quiet road in front of the fort, the moonlight shining down on him. It feels like he has a purpose and nothing can stop him. A lone tree stood dark against the sky, adding a calm, peaceful feeling to the scene.
In the second shot, I capture Jin riding his horse at full speed, making it clear heโs in a hurry. He was heading to the village called HIYOSHI SPRING. The full moon is high in the sky, glowing behind clouds and providing light across the landscape. Clouds and leaf particles float in the wind, providing emotion to the image. The scene feels strong and heroic, full of energy.๐ช
Jin Sakai is riding through a quiet bamboo forest at night. The tall, thin bamboo surrounds him on both sides, the moonlight is making long shadows. Up ahead, a glowing fire lights up part of the forest, drawing attention to a camp in the distance. The flames in the air hint that people are gathered there, possibly the Mongols.โ๏ธ
This is the best moment in the game โ the standoff. You call out an enemy for a one-on-one fight. You wait for them to make a move, and when they do...SLASH You strike them down in one clean hit.
That one strike by Jin Sakai is deadly. The bamboo forest at night in the background adds a stealthy and dramatic atmosphere. And at that position, I captured him during the kill. The spatter of blood and the way the opponent's headless body falls backwards are enough to prove that the opponent is dead.
In this scene, Jin Sakai is on horseback, standing at the edge of a high cliff, overlooking a peaceful valley below. Tiny houses and burned torches are scattered below near the water. The area is surrounded by lush forest, rocky cliffs, and small ponds reflecting the moonlight. His katana hangs at his side, always ready. Dressed in his samurai armor, he looks like a man prepared for whatever is coming next. We can see a pillar of steam in the distance, which indicates a hot spring.
It is nighttime, and a misty blue light covers everything, making the scene feel calm. I used the Vivid effect before taking this screenshot, creating this blue light effect.
In this scene, we witness the balance of Intensity with calm. As Jin Sakai rides his white horse through a forest path, the world around him feels alive, bathed in lovely morning light, and the leaves float gently in the air. A rural village sits quietly next door, where villagers go about their days, adding to the lively feel of Tsushima. This quiet moment gives players the opportunity to stop, explore, and enjoy the beauty of the island they are protecting. Itโs in these quiet rides that Ghost of Tsushima truly shines, blending storytelling, atmosphere, and art into a moving experience.
