Weapons in theHunter: Call of the Wild and Hollow Knight

Hello and Welcome back to my blog!

This Week's Contest theme by the Gaming Photography community is Weapon Showcase and theHunter: Call of the Wild has a lot to offer in this aspect. There are a lot of weapons in the game including bows and arrows.

I went to join multiplayer sessions as the game is first-person only and you can see the weapon better in the multiplayer session while someone else is using it.

Look at the following example, I played with a random stranger who was hunting his prey near a lake using a silent Bow. I told them I would take their pictures too and look how they were concentrated just before taking the shot.

I played on another map, in the New England Mountains. I have not played a lot on this map, however, it is one of the most beautiful DLC maps. I still have to buy this DLC that's why I have not played much in this one but something very interesting happened here.

A multiplayer-hosted map can have at most 8 players playing and you can talk to them using the server chat. I put up a message if someone wants to play and become my model for a photo.

Everyone just came to the tent near me and wanted it. That was a fun experience where people were posing with different guns and even firing in the air just for me. I didn't expect that simple message is gonna attract almost all the players.

I took a lot of cool shots. I am glad theHunter community is this fun.

this here

I love this one the most! Look at those two with their companion dogs and poses. Both are using different rifles too.

I have hunted with @bemier in the past too and she uses her 7MM Magnum rifle most of the time. I love this rifle too and is one of the most versatile and powerful rifles in the game. It can ethically hunt medium to big size animals. But she uses it to even hunt smaller animals like Turkeys or rabbits.

There are a lot of bows in the game too. After all, it is a hunting game and not many people love to hunt with them in the game. Because you need to be much more patient and they have less range. You need to let your prey come to you rather than you go towards them and once they are close you take them out.

They are quite silent too and don't make much noise. So, you can take down multiple animals from the same herd easily.

There are a lot of shotguns in the game too, although not as many options as we have for the rifles. You can use most of them with different shotgun shells. I used the 'Bird Shot' shells to take down smaller animals. These shotgun shells expand into a sizable target and even if one of the smaller palettes hits a class 1 animal, it would die. I always keep a shotgun close during my hunts. They are good against predators like wolves, lions, Crocs etc who love to attack you and get close.

But this time I decided to shoot near my Sheru just to see if he would react. But nope he didn't even flinch. What a legend!

The least used weapon type in theHunter has to be the Pistols. They come in handy a lot of times. But I have seen so few of the other players use them, mostly because of their lack of range and damage. The developers keep adding new handguns and pumping up their damages too but still not a lot of people are using them.

Some of the revolvers have good reload animations too. But I don't carry them because I don't like to carry an extra backpack and without it my inventory gets full. Even when I carry it I forget to use it or there are very less opportunities for me to use it. I only use them when I am doing a quest which explicitly asks me to use them.

Let me just change the game and show you a completely different game with a completely different art perspective and how that game uses very simple weapons to defeat even the hardest of bosses.

I am talking about Hollow Knight where our unnamed Protagonist goes into the ruins of an ancient kingdom with a small sword-like weapon called the "nail". Since it is a bug game even a little nail is like a samurai sword and with this little sword, he defeats so many strong enemies.

The hitting animations are beautiful and capturing the perfect arc of this swing always feels good.

Later the weapon can be sharpened but still, it is just a small nail which defeats the mightiest of enemies

Okay, that was some contrast going from a realistic 3D hunting simulation game to a 2D hand-drawn art-style game. But I hope you enjoyed it.

Thanks for reading...

Until next time...

Excellent screenshots my good friend, I am surprised to see the kind of weapons you have in these games that you have shared, no doubt they are very useful for everything you do in it, but I liked more the part where you show the dog and the two characters are seen, a quite epic capture.

Thanks, man. I didn't expect so many random players to come to the same spot in this multiplayer session. That was quite epic. I loved that shot as well. I was lying on the ground to take that shot. It turned out great.

Wow P, those screenshots are amazing. It's cool how different weapons give unique gameplay experiences. I'm impressed by the community's enthusiasm in multiplayer too. That shot with the dog is my favorite bro

Yes there is variety in weapons, it amazes me how this video game has such a warm and good community, this is really seen in very few multiplayer video games, they even agreed to pose with their weapons in the air on that cliff.

Now at the end I liked that change of aesthetics, to another video game in 2D graphics, I consider it a beautiful video game and of course it has that tiny, but powerful weapon, I guess depending on the size of a living being, there will always be sharp pointy things that serve as a sword XD!

Hi, I agree with you, I was looking at pravesh0's pictures and it caught my attention, that crossbow reminds me of the one used by Daryl Dixon in the walking dead series.
