Watching The Northwest derby with a bottle of Desperados

People that knows the Desperados beer is aware that it has a very sweet taste unlike other Lager beers. This unique taste makes it very easy for one to drink. You could just continue gulping that you'll forget it has a 5.9% alcohol volume.

For some time now, I've made this brand one of my favorites even when it's slightly more expensive. Any time I take the Desperados original beer, it reminds me to always try to make 'lemonades out of lemons'. Instead of allowing our anxieties weigh us down we should strive to cultivate joy and to keep a happy face while still finding a way to work it out.

The Desperados beer also reminds me to be mindful of the people I keep around me, to be very careful of those I call my close friends. Just like it is very difficult to notice the alcohol content in Desperados due to its sweetness, so it is with identifying when those we call friends are being back stabbers. Many in the world today are full of pretence, in the outside we consider them the best thing that have ever happened in our lives but in the inside they could be slowly destroying us, they could be likened to time bombs waiting to explode.

Thinking about this, I fell in love with the Desperados for it always reminds me to always be in check and never be carried away by how easy or smooth any situation seems. Both in the company I keep and in every thing I do.

Yesterday was the Northwest derby, a match of two sworn enemies, two English rivals for decades now. Liverpool FC and Manchester United.

I decided to step out to watch this match even when I know Manchester united, my favorite football club wasn't playing at their best form. And since Liverpool FC were sitting comfortably as the Premier League table leaders, I expected the match to be an easy one for them.

That was why I chose the Desperados beer to keep me company while I watched this super match, to remind me to stay positive even during trying times, to be optimistic even when there seems to be little hope.

And that was exactly what happened throughout the match. Even with a poor refreeing from Michael Oliver, the host team were given a hard time at Anfield. The game ended on a 2-2 draw. They would have lost the match if Harry Maguire had converted that last opportunity on goal. They almost 'walked alone'!

Other beers I saw on the table were Trophy and Hero. These beers are synonymatic to a football match since the purpose of playing these games is to contend for the Premier League trophy. But then, after the game yesterday, the Premier League awarded the match Hero or player of the Match to Mohamed Salah who converted a penalty kick during the game. On my own opinion, Bruno Fernandes had a better game and should be the match 'Hero' instead.

But who knows me? my opinion doesn't count in this. I'm happy the Premier League doesn't get to decide the brand of beer I drink!!

This is #beersaturday week and I would like to invite @bakinba to write a post about beer in any language with at least three pictures.
