POSH x Splinterlands Contest

image.png

Hey everyone, this is a collaborative contest between POSH and Splinterlands in an effort to get more players to share Splinterlands content over on Reddit! With this we want to get many players to sign up to link their Reddit account and potentially create a Reddit account so they can experience what it's like to share Hive content on Reddit and get rewarded for bringing traffic to our front-ends!

To enter the contest is quite simple!

1. Go to https://hiveposh.com/ and login with keychain

2. Link your Reddit account on the website

You will receive a point for registering and linking your Reddit account for the prize draw!

Then you go and find an interesting post about Splinterlands, can be your own or someone else's, no matter how old it is and

3. Share the post link on Reddit

The easiest subreddit for this would be https://www.reddit.com/r/Splinterlands/ to enter the contest and test @redditposh out

@redditposh will notice your share and drop a comment under the post letting the author know it was shared. This comment, based on how well the share does on Reddit, can get you POSH tokens as mentioned in the daily @redditposh posts along with Hive rewards if our curators or others vote the comment up!

Prizes

We are giving away 50 Rebellion Packs and 5,000 SPS to participants!

Rules

Registrations get 1 point
Successful Splinterlands post link shares get 1 point

You may share 1 post per day in the r/splinterlands subreddit for 6 days to get the maximum number of points and increase your odds of winning packs and SPS!

Finding and sharing Splinterlands posts outside of the r/splinterlands subreddit may get you extra points - though be aware that similar to communities here, each subreddit has their own set of rules so not every related subreddit may welcome shares - try your way through.

Don't overshare/spam however as this may disqualify you from the contest.

Don't share the same post more than once per account.

We will draw winners 7 days from this post, each point gets you an extra draw in the wheel of fortune!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in this post - this is a bit of an experimental contest with Reddit and we hope to improve it over time with more participants!

Please reblog and share this post with your Splinterlands friends who may not be aware of POSH!

More contests to follow in the near future!

My guess would be 1,000 to 5,000 people in Splinterlands right now.

I will use this post for a few questions, first of, I got mentioned a few time on posh post recap, where it was written I earned some Posh tokens but it takes a few days to get them to hive-engine right?

Second, what can I do with posh tokens? I mean stake to get some benefits?

POSH you earn you can either hold if you think they may increase in value or trade for Hive. It's just meant as an additional reward for participating either by delegating or sharing!

weird I don't see it on the list, maybe you may have to contact the mods in the subreddit to check you aren't being shadowbanned by some bot/filter

It's a good event for the visibility of Hive and Splinterlands. I contributed to the event to contribute a little. I invite everyone to participate.

I hadn't used posh earlier, I thought it would be a hassle to use, but I decided to pull myself together and for the greater good of the rebellion packs I did it.

And I was pleasantly surprised about how easy it was to connect reddit and twitter on the posh website. And if I understand correctly age of the post doesn't matter and you can still earn rewards on it through POSH by having it get engagement on either reddit or twitter ? If that's the case it's might awesome.

I shared an older splinterlands post on reddit that I made myself. I will do so until this giveaway ends and probably even longer as it doesn't take too much effort to share.

Thanks for welcoming me. Btw one question, is this like Reddit that every user has chance to get their post more heard, or is it more like Twitter etc... where to get seen you will have to have some following. One of the subforums I saw on here was worldmapping which looks cool, and since I travel a lot I would like to share some pics of my travels, but not sure if any would get seen by anyone without having almost any following?

It can be both and a lot more to be honest. You can post simply to your blog where only your followers will see the posts in their following feed, for example my following feed is: https://peakd.com/@acidyo/feed, so that's where I see all posts of the people I follow. However there are also communities similar to subreddits, that's where I'd recommend new users to post into for a chance at better visibility and curation as users subscribed to for instance @worldmappin as you mentioned will check for posts specifically for travel so their community feed looks like this: https://peakd.com/c/hive-163772/created

this also allows people to check their community feeds, a feed where posts appear from only the communities they're subscribed to: https://peakd.com/created/my

then we also have something new similar to short form content like twitter called snaps, on the blockchain level they're just comments in a daily post, but the front-end shows them separately so people can use that to try and attract others to their posts or share more random things that don't necessarily need a lot of vote rewards: https://peakd.com/snaps/snaps/newest

but yeah, communities are definitely the best way to start posting and engaging in, connect with authors you enjoy the content of, leave them some comments and many may reciprocate the activity and come to your posts in the future as well!

Oh wow thanks for another very nice and detailed reply, and for nice welcoming, appreciate it. I will check it out more about how things function in coming days when I get more free time to do so for sure.
