S&S Invitational: Heroic Fantasy Edition
πΊ Welcome to the Scholar and Scribe Invitational πΊ
The Invitational is our bi-weekly, super-duper, writing contest. It is where we match quills and draw blood all for the sake of the craft. We all know a 'friendly' competition never hurts anyone, much, especially when it can be used as a platform to improve your writing. π

@alonicus - Marv's Mad Dash
The wreckage of Engineer's Tower was almost invisible, just a stump where it had stood proud and tall only twenty minutes ago. It's position was given away not by imposing stonework that had stood for centuries, but rather by the cloud of grey smoke rising from it's remains.
π₯ Silver: 1 HSBI, 200 Ecency points4, 40 SCHOLAR, 2 SCRIBE
@oluchi31- My Paul
Everyone sat with eyes fixated on the couple -- us-- standing at the altar. We had just finished saying our 'I dos' and that wait after the priest had asked for any objection to the union had to be the longest and scariest wait of my life. When nobody walked up to the altar and the officiating priest said 'You may now kiss the bride', my heart literally leaped out of my chest.
π₯ Bronze: 100 Ecency points, 30 SCHOLAR, 1 SCRIBE
@stellageorge - Ten Stars
From the other side, he heard his best friend of nine years curse out loud before the shuffling of feet could be heard and soon the clicking of the lock on the door as Jason opened the door for him.

Runner-Up: 75 Ecency points
@rinconpoetico7 - Code red
Alarms sounded thunderously to alert all personnel on the military base. Shots flew without finding a target while the shadow continued to run and blend into the dark surroundings.

Thank you ! I was pleasantly surprised to do so well in this one, I felt there were some really strong entries that I was up against π So a bit thank you to everyone else who contributed !
Writing something heroic for my next one is going to be quite the challenge, most of what I write (even the fantasy posts) is of the "grim and gritty" variety where there are no good guys, everything is shades of grey, and more often than not the lead character dies in some awful but amusing twisted way π
Thank you very much for this. I really loved participating and I look forward to where my imagination leads me this time
Thank you so much!
Congratulations to all the winners. π
