This morning, I opened the Hive blog and came across a post from @theycallmedan asking all Hivers to share their three favorite things about the Hive Blockchain. Few people have done more to advance this community than Dan, so let’s start by acknowledging his incredible contributions—thank you for everything you do, legend!

We’ve been part of the Hive Community for over seven years, watching it evolve from a chaotic jungle into a well-organized garden with a thriving ecosystem. The challenge of decentralization has always been organizing a large, diverse group of individuals to move in the same direction. In contrast to centralized blockchains like Solana, SUI, or BNB that grew rapidly under corporate-style structures, Hive’s growth has been steady and organic. That’s exactly why we believe Hive is the hidden gem of the crypto world.

Here are the three things we love most about Hive:

1. The Community

Hive’s community is its backbone. While 99% of “crypto” projects will ultimately join the long list of failed ventures, Hive stands out because of its stable, committed user base. This community isn’t just invested financially—it’s invested in the mission of decentralization.

Five years ago, Hive survived a hostile takeover attempt by Justin Sun, who sought to centralize the blockchain under his control. The community rebelled, leading to the split between Steem and Hive. While Bitcoin may eventually end up in the hands of BlackRock or governments, Hive will still carry the torch.
