Qurator's Mischievous Mondays | Workstation Wonders
Welcome to Qurator's Mischievous Mondays!
This will be a weekly competition that we will be hosting every Monday. We want to see a little more engagement and fun when it comes to some of our competitions so this will be a simpler and shorter competition. Easy to enter, but maybe not so easy to win. ;) This competition will be similar to the Monday Missions we had a long time ago, but instead of writing posts to enter we will now consider only the comments and answers on this blog as your entry to win.
Why Mischievous?
We all could use a little fun in our lives. We would even say that we deserve it, let loose a little and have a go at making everyone laugh or think a little, even if it is a little over the top or pure silliness. Go all out and let your creative juices flow.

Hello! I'm excited to share my workstation for this week's 'Workstation Wonders' contest. Brace yourselves! 🙈 This week's 'Workstation Wonders' theme is all about showcasing our workspaces, and mine... well, let's just say it's a 'work in progress.' ☕️ Papers everywhere, coffee stains, and a general sense of chaos reign supreme. But hey, it's functional (mostly)!
Monday Mornings: My Desk, a Battlefield
Ok, it's another Monday morning. The siren song of the Saturday and Sunday fades, and the reality of the workweek crashes down. And for me, that reality often manifests as a chaotic explosion on my desk.
Picture this: a battlefield of paperwork. Reports, meeting minutes – all strewn across the surface like fallen soldiers. In the midst of this paper war, lies the carcass of a fallen hero: a defective TV mainboard. It stares back at me, a silent testament to the last week failed repair attempt.
To add to the chaos, a half-empty cup of coffee, now lukewarm and mocking my dwindling motivation, sits precariously close to the system unit. My phone, a relentless buzzing machine, vibrates incessantly, a constant reminder of the outside world trying to invade my already fractured focus. And let's not forget the tangled mess of wires, courtesy of the phone charger that seems to have a mind of its own.
This, my friends, is my Monday morning desk. A testament to the weekend's blissful escape and the impending doom of the workweek.
The Paperwork Avalanche
Where does it all come from? I swear, I file things away. I diligently create folders, both digital and physical, to maintain some semblance of order. But by Monday morning, it's as if a mischievous gremlin has invaded my office, scattering papers like confetti.
There's the urgent email that demanded an immediate response, the report that needs to be finalized by noon, and the mountain of unread request require approval. Each piece of paper whispers its own urgent demands, creating a symphony of stress that threatens to drown me.
The TV Mainboard Tragedy
Ah, the TV mainboard. A casualty of my weekend boredom and a misplaced sense of confidence. I thought, "How hard can it be? Just a few capacitors, a soldering iron, and voila! A working TV."
Spoiler alert: it was harder than I anticipated. Now, the once-proud television lies dismantled, its innards scattered across my desk like the remains of a defeated robot. The mainboard, the heart of the machine, lies defeated, a victim of my amateur surgery.
The Phone's Siren Call
My phone, a relentless tormentor, adds to the cacophony. Constant notifications – texts, emails, social media alerts – bombard me from all sides. Each ping, each vibration, yanks my attention away from the task at hand, further fragmenting my focus.
The charger, a tangled mess of wires, contributes to the overall chaos. It snakes its way across the desk, tripping me up as I navigate the treacherous terrain of paperwork and electronic debris.
The Struggle for Order
Despite the chaos, I must persevere. I take a deep breath, push aside the fallen TV components, and attempt to regain control. I start by creating a to-do list, a futile attempt to impose order on the chaos.
Next, I tackle the phone. I silence the notifications, put it on airplane mode, and banish it to the furthest corner of my desk. This, I tell myself, will create a much-needed zone of peace.
The paperwork, however, proves to be a more formidable opponent. I start with the most urgent items, chipping away at the mountain one by one. The coffee, now cold and bitter, provides a much-needed caffeine boost, though its effectiveness is questionable.
The Monday Morning Ritual
This chaotic scene, this Monday morning ritual, is a familiar dance. A frustrating, yet oddly comforting, reminder of the challenges that lie ahead. It's a test of my resilience, a challenge to maintain my composure amidst the storm.
And somehow, amidst the chaos, I find a strange sense of satisfaction. In the face of this daily onslaught, I learn to adapt, to prioritize, to find pockets of calm amidst the storm.
Perhaps, one day, I'll conquer this Monday morning beast. I'll arrive at my desk to find a serene oasis of order, a haven of productivity. But until then, I'll continue to battle the chaos, one paper, one phone call, and one defective TV mainboard at a time.
This is my home desktop.
A notebook, an improvised LED lamp for those who don't have a backlit keyboard, a coffee mug, a chocolate bar, a coaster, and a hidden BITCOIN coin, if you can find it!

Esse é o meu desktop caseiro.
Um notebook, uma luminária LED improvisada para quem não tem teclado retroiluminado, uma caneca de café, um chocolate, um porta copo, e uma moeda BITCOIN escondida, se você puder achar!
Greetings to all, happy week.
My workstation is unique and beautiful, I acquired it two years ago when a friend and former co-worker was selling his furniture because he was going to emigrate. I had nowhere to study or write well and with my spinal problems I needed to sit properly, so when I saw in his WhatsApp statuses a school student table and chair 🤣🤭 I fell in love with it.
Although it is a school desk or table its measurements are standard for anyone and more for a short person, for me it's perfect I'm 1,55 cm. I don't remember when it cost me but I know it was cheap and my friend gave me the delivery for free.
After a while I have been decorating it with stickers of the hive and some dapps that I have been given in the meetup. And every day I like my little table more and more, besides I can move it to any part of the house and enjoy a new environment whenever I want, for example the patio, is where I use it the most, I like to be under the mamon tree and if I look at the sky I can see the leaves moving with the wind and listen to the sound of the birds singing. It is the best workstation I have ever had.
This is my entry for this Monday's weekly Workstation Wonders contest. I present to you my workstation, which might look a bit chaotic at first glance. You’re probably wondering how it’s possible to work with three screens. For me, it’s much easier to shift my gaze between them than to rely on shortcuts all the time. Plus, I often work on a single design project using two or three different programs, like Photoshop or Illustrator.
As for the iPad, I have to say that having it there was a dream that took time and effort to achieve. Sometimes, I work on illustration projects, and I prefer using the iPad for drawing since Procreate makes it much more convenient.
To me, this workstation represents both comfort and functionality. It’s something I’ve been building over time, tailoring it to my needs and making it increasingly personal. Now it’s a space where I feel completely at ease.
Cheers, everyone!
Thanks again for the opportunity to write in this fun dynamic.
Topic of the week: The wonders of workstations.
Indeed, this is my workstation, where all the magic happens. I assure you there is not much to see besides my mess. The entropy that is constantly being created maintains a continuous cycle of order and disorder. Am I being redundant or is it just Physics? And yeah! I use a keyboard and a mouse. I can´t use the ones the laptop brings... (Am I crazy? I bet some people will understand 😑) And, surely, I keep my laptops's webcam cover (One never knows who's watching 👀)
She is not only my workstation (yes, I call her "SHE"), she is also my amusement center, my window to the world (although sometimes she crashes 🤣). She allows me to navigate beyond these four walls where I live. I'm weird because I spend more time with my workstation than with any other device in my house (including my friends and neighbors)....
As you can see, there is an octopus that always watches me, some speakers that play music from YouTube videos 16 hours out of 24. I use some headphones to listen to conversations privately (since my speakers always sound so loud that even my neighbors find out what kind of music I love). A cup of coffee (can't miss it, it's my fuel), books, notebooks, cables, other things... Like the Cross of May, which serves to scare away the ghosts, ghouls, and demons that keep me from concentrating on my work.
So, I worry about my mess and I ask the only certified and free psychologist we now have (and in whom I trust the most): Copilot (what did you think? What was I going to say ChatGPT?), anyway, any artificial intelligence is good and well I asked him why I have my workstation in such a state and you know what he told me: I suffer from ADHD!
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), according to him/her (I mean Copilot): it is because I tend to keep everything in disorder. And that’s because I leave things for later. Actually I leave them for later as a reminder (ok!), because if I remove them I forget them forever, and maybe I also have some hoarder syndrome, I also am a procrastinator, probably a perfectionist? (is that a defect?) Because I always want to have everything in a specific place, and at the end, I end up making a mess, leaving everything where it falls. Copilot also says I have stress and anxiety (in this economy, who doesn't?).
Deep down I think I'm sentimental (a new way of saying hoarder, did I say that already?), because everything has sentimental value and I have a hard time parting with things (maybe because I may or may not need them in the near future). Hence, my reluctance to throw everything away?
Or maybe I think I'm multitasking, and I keep switching from one task to another and leaving them unfinished?
Thanks Qurator! Now I know I'm crazier than a goat! 🤣
We can't seem to view your image. Tried on hive, peakd and opening the image in a new tab...
I hope you can see it now. If you note on my latest posts I have the same problem with Hive, I still don't know why this happen :/
Try uploading directly to hive by dragging and dropping the image to your post while editing. That might help =)
Done! Thanks 😄
