1895 Austria 10 Heller coin

A few years back I went to a local coin show in Portland with one of my kids who was probably 12 at the time. He really got a lot of attention from the old timers that were selling coins and he loved it.

There was a guy selling these kids packs of old coins for $10. They were only available to kids and he said there was roughly $50 worth of old coins in each pack. So, of course I bought one for the kid and this is one of the coins he got.

Every coin was packaged this way! All that info typed up then cut out and taped to the coin holder, wow!

At first he was not too interested in the collection, but I pointed out that some of the coins were over 100 years old, he took an interest. He ended up putting the coins is plastic sleeves in a three ring binder. Just the other day he got them out so I snapped a few shots of the coins I liked.

When he saw that I was interested he tried to sell them to me 😂🤣 #smart

Too bad he didn't think to charge me for just taking pictures of them ;)

This is a 10 Heller from Austria. They minted this design from 1893-1895, then again from 1907-1911. It's made of purely of nickel and there were over 79 million minted, so not very rare.

This one is in pretty decent shape though and I like the design on the revers with the denomination and year inside the shield with what looks like a crown on the top.
