The habit of drinking water when you wake up in the morning is very good and helps digestion in the intestines when the stomach is still empty. I do that all the time and preheating is great, I do it a lot and it fills me up first when I drink it before breakfast starts.
You are very lucky to live in Norway where drinking water is so easily provided by the government. Great post @hindavi!
