RE: Get Large Rewards for Sharing Hive Links on Reddit! And Win Prizes! 👇 HivePosh Contest #20

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

If one is interested in joining, they will make time. No time is not an excuse.

I have also foreseen the possible influx of sharers in the near future; we need to be careful and mindful. It is understandable that a contest makes people impulsive. I was terrible at that, but I learned control (after a few bans, etc., haha!). We learn the hard way.

I can’t really think of a way to control the excessive influx of sharers that could alarm the mods or Reddit. Unless it can be controlled on the RedditPosh side, for example, limiting the number of shares per day in each sub.

Redditposh could control how many shares per sub per day i guess, but can't stop you to still post a link on reddit, so the sub would still be flooded

Something needs looking into.

I think everyone should space out shares over time and engage with the community instead of just posting links and follow subreddit rules about link sharing.

Even worse: several irresponsible people would be enough.

Every new feature for HivePosh means a new payment to devs.

To change a small detail - it's about disturbing devs.

I have access to nothing except @poshtoken. (It's not a surprise: I am new in HivePosh, and had not time to earn trust).

Thus, changing anything can take ages of time. (Devs also need time for coding, sometimes, weeks or months).

The shortest way is: when something is very wrong, I can ask a user to stop doing something (like, overusing a sub). If this user doesn't care, I can ask Acid to ask devs to ban that person for a month from HivePosh. But if I often disturb Acid about banning people on my behalf, I'll be banned myself sooner or later 😁 The best solution here: speaking on behalf of the core HivePosh users. Do we need a council? 😁 @davideownzall maybe a discord channel is needed? Any suggestions made on behalf of the core HivePosh users would sound much much better than another time-consuming idea from x-rain. 😁

Right, right. The best solution is to have rules in place so we don't have to disturb Acid to ban someone. If the rules are not followed, then you ban, simple.

As Dev can't do immediate change, then definitely have a rule to follow.

An example of the rule: avoid excessive posting (spam prevention)

You may not post more than X number per week.
Users are limited to (number) posts per (timeframe) to maintain quality and prevent spam.
Also, the consecutive post should be within ( maybe 2 days interval?)

And definitely, DO NOT post repetitive content or share the same content with a different sub; I've tried and tested it—you'll be called a bot.

In a big sub like crypto, I think no more than two weekly posts are enough. This week, I posted a couple of times there with three-day intervals only because I caught some big news that I feel is relevant to the sub, but I wouldn't just post for the sake of posting.

Instead of reporting individuals often, gathering feedback from users before escalating might carry more weight. So, I agree with the Discord channel, which could help core users discuss moderation issues so we can make efficient decisions.

The rules will only help at the start while the dev is doing their side to limit the sharing automatically (if that is possible)

In my opinion, this is very important and needs to be prioritised for long-term sharing on Reddit.

Eheh yea that's one of the reasons I suggested a discord, a discussion here on comments can be endless and then lost by time, I could set up one then I think

I usually limit to 2-3 max share a day when I have time between work and family so one after the other, and at least give 2-3 days break before reshare stuff in a sub
